Comprehensive
The HIFE College Coaching Programs cover all areas that a student/family needs in order to be prepared for higher education. Through our guidance and preparation for a successful college education, the Heartland Institute of Financial Education commits to provide “excellence in guidance” for each of our Program Enrollment Options.
Coaching
Our Coaches are the difference. Each student is guided by their own personal Coach. Our Coaches take the time to learn each students personal situation and customize a “plan of attack” based on the individuals situation to be as successful as possible. Every Coach comes from a Higher Education background and on average has 25+ years’ experience.

Career Assessment and Guidance
Our assessments help determine student interests, aptitude and work values that relate to appropriate career exploration and selection. The Coach will provide one-on-one guidance regarding the best career direction for the student.

- Deliver personalized recommendations for student and create a plan to research and decide upon a career path
- Provide framework for career exploration with a focus on hands-on experience, fact-based research, and best fit for student

College Selection and Admission Guidance
Aids the student and family by organizing a successful admissions campaign, which provides assistance to the family in selecting best-fit schools and guiding through each schools admission process.

- Teach students/families how to navigate and find schools that match their needs and profile using assessments and tools
- Explain the college selection process, factors to consider, and strategies for narrowing down college choices and final decisions
- Provide guidance on the college application process, a framework to keep student on track for deadlines, and deliver resources for essay writing
Financial Aid Navigation
Provides the student and family with the necessary tools and guidance to identify appropriate scholarship opportunities and assists with all areas related to financial aid. Our goal is to help each student get the most money for College.

Application and Essay Review
Our Coach will provide expert review of the college application as well as College and Scholarship essays. We provide expert feedback and will guide each student with tips and tricks so that you present the best version of yourself.

Full Program
The Full College Coaching Program encompasses all of the above options. Plus, each student gets the added benefit of unlimited access to their Coach, additional recommendations and access to special webinars.

+ HIFE College Preparation Assistance
- Offers specific areas of progress that are required to prepare the student during each level of high school, from the beginning of the freshman year through the senior year. Specific items for completion, expectations, examples and time requirements are included.
+ HIFE College Planning Tasks with Timeline
- Coordinates timing and dates with the College Preparation tasks to provide the student with an effective process for listing and managing expected items of completion during each and every year throughout the high school years.
+ HIFE College Visitation Suggestion
- Provides a list of relevant questions for families and students to ask during college visits. This list helps to prioritize colleges for final consideration and ultimate choice.
+ HIFE SAT/ACT Testing Preparation and Guidance
- Guides the student to adequately prepare for the required testing for college acceptance, through access to study material and actual practice exams.
+ HIFE College Admissions Guidance
- Aids the student and family by organizing a successful admissions campaign, which provides assistance to the family in selecting schools to apply for and assisting in completing admissions applications.
+ HIFE Scholarship Search and Guidance
- Provides the student and family with the necessary tools to conduct a local scholarship search and Internet access to a complimentary national database through the HIFE website.
+ HIFE Expected Family Contribution (EFC) Guidance
- Explains and provides guidance to reduce the EFC to the lowest achievable level.
+ HIFE Financial Aid Guidance
- Assists student and family with completion of the Federal and institutional financial aid forms, which will help make certain the student applies for all available financial aid.
+ HIFE Negotiation Strategy
- Positions your student for the most financial aid possible, through a series of highly effective strategies and planning techniques.
+ HIFE College Transition Assistance
- Assists the student with adapting to college life and how to deal with the differences between high school and college.
+ HIFE College Completion Assistance
- Guides the student through the course selection and focusing on completing their major.
+ HIFE Transition to Work/Grad School
- Assists student with resume preparation, job shadowing and internships including interviewing techniques.
